Mother Nature did her best to surprise us, and even though there wasn’t a flake of snow when we arrived at Duncombe Park at 8.00am, by the time the wedding fair opened at 11.00am, it was definitely a winter wonderland.
A big, big thanks to the exhibitors who all persevered and not only got themselves to the event, but were also set up in time. Many thanks to the Duncombe Park team who did all they could to ferry brides and grooms to be up the driveway with the help of wellies and tractors! The Wedding Affair would like to send the Brides and Grooms to be a very big thank you for braving the snow and hope they come to their next Fair too!
Very aptly, one of the prizes for the day was a lovely pair of Weddington Boots and these were won by Laura Cobbe of York. We would also like to congratulate Emma Green of Ripon, our winner of a £250 cash prize, to be spent with either the venue or an exhibitor of their choice from the day. We will keep you updated on which one of our suppliers Emma chooses.
We cannot recommend Duncombe Park enough - every wedding day is special and Duncombe Park can make that day sublime. Set in enchanting 18th century landscaped gardens and surrounded by 450 acres of rolling parkland, Duncombe Park offers a magical venue for a day to remember forever.
Despite the meteorological challenges of the day, we still had great fun. A huge Wedding Affair thanks to Jim Poyner Photography who provided us with 100’s of beautiful photographs from the event and to Little Pretty Things and The Occasional Table who both gave our guests and exhibitors very tasty demonstrations of their chocolate making and food for thought. We do hope our guests also enjoyed the free facials and sample products from Molton Brown who sponsored our gift bags along with gift wrapped chocolates from Little Pretty Things – check out the images at Duncombe Park to see a selection of photographs from the day.
