I am a professional make-up artist based in Harrogate. I trained at the Jemma Kidd Academy in London, completing a professional make-up artistry course and a bridal make-up course. I use only the best products including Laura Mercier, MAC, Jemma Kidd Professional, Giorgio Armani and Illamasqua to name but a few.
I think the most important aspect of wedding make-up is ensuring you look like yourself, just the most fabulous version of yourself! My subtle use of make-up enhances your natural beauty whilst creating impact.
At the trial we establish the kind of look you want and put this into practice. A flawless base is key, using a primer and foundation or tinted moisturiser to suit your skin type and achieve your desired look. Finishing skin off with a powder is essential to set the make-up and keep shine at bay. Eyes are enhanced with shadows, liners and lashes either your own or false for a bolder look, to suit your eye shape and colour. Most eyes look great with a variation on the timeless smoky theme. I create a natural glow with cheek colour and highlighter, enhancing the shape of your face with subtle contouring. I like to fill lips in with a lip pencil to give a good base colour that won’t fade after you’ve kissed your Groom and had a few sips of champagne. Lip gloss gives a perfect finish and I usually give on to you for touch-ups throughout the day. A dab of powder, a slick of gloss and a smile will keep you looking beautiful all day!
