Poppy Marquees is a bespoke marquee company founded by former Army Officer Simon Halmshaw based at Sherriff Hutton York, covering north Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.  A family owned company with a background in hospitality, which is now in its seventh year of business, with a track record of providing stunning marquees for weddings and special occasions.


A Marquee is possibly the most stylish environment for any special occasion.  From the onset we will work closely with you providing professional advice, we offer a no obligation site visit where we can discuss in more detail your full requirements and ideas.  Our marquees are suitable for construction on grass, tarmac, or concrete. The multi span marquees which we stock have no centre poles or guy ropes allowing for unobstructed interiors and exteriors.


Poppy Marquees can be attractively decorated in a range of styles, from coloured pleated linings to themed backdrops.
We offer a range of lighting to compliment each style to create the right atmosphere and ambience our stock ranges from furniture to themed dance floors, bars, coloured swags, starlight ceilings canopies, venue and location sourcing and catering from our sister company poppy caterers limited.
