Romance Of The Cello
Rebecca has an unusual musical career. After studying the cello with John Chillingworth of English National Opera, she went on to use her musical talents in a career as an Actor-Musican on the West End Stage. Highlights of this career have included playing solo cello in ‘As You like It’ at the Wyndhams Theatre with Sienna Miller, and in the Tony award-winning ‘Sweeney Todd’ at the New Ambassadors Theatre. She has also played solo cello in many of the largest regional theatres around the country including the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Theatre Royal York and Watermill, Newbury.
The cello is the nearest sound to the human voice and its beauty and emotion are ideally suited to wedding days. Rebecca believes that the purity of Bach, the passion of Lloyd-Webber and the beauty of modern film composers such as Han Zimmer create a perfect backdrop. She knows how important every detail of every wedding is and believes in looking good as well as sounding good whether it be a scarlet ball gown, pale blue 30’s number or Shakespearian costume! Rebecca’s approach is flexible and discreet and she is happy to work on arrangements of music to suit.
